June Harestock Handicap

The June Handicap was something of a special event with some celebration of Sarah Aldridge who completed her 400th Parkrun during May, some sponsors giveaways from Brooks and a first attempt at running with summer handicaps.
nIt all went off famously and 24 runners enjoyed some competitive racing with 12 managing to "meet or beat" their handicap and at least 10 runners in a number of blanket finish "sweetspots" through the pack.
nOur winner was Paul Oxley in his first appearance of the year and showing great improvement to romp home well ahead of a close group with Marie Kille taking 2nd in her first ever Handicap and just holding off Jo Jefferies who claimed 3rd. Rachel Byers was our other event newbie and we had first appearances of 2017 from Danny Kyle and Sarah Shedden.
nFastest on the night was James Moore in 6'15 with Danny Kyle posting a big PB of 6'17 to climb to No.16 on the honours board. Matt Grote was third fastest in 6'19. Congratulations also to Adrian Haughton whose new PB of 7'00 makes it onto the honours board at No.65.

nIn the overall standings it is pretty much as you were with most of the current leaders missing out and putting this one straight into their discards pile....Robert Bryan still leads from Andy Gannaway and Lloyd Dickson. nThe next handicap will be the first Thursday in July, the 6th. As usual meet at the track 18.45 for 19.00.
