South of England Cross Country Championships - Snr Men

The Southerns are one of the highlights of the cross-country season and Parliament Hill fields is an iconic venue with "that hill" at the start and a well earned reputation for testing conditions. Drawing the top athletes from all over the South of England the Southern's are always very competitive - this year there were over 1150 competitors and 77 clubs with complete 6 man teams.
nWe were delighted to be travelling to the event in some strength with a well balanced team of 13 athletes....comfortable for the 6-man Southerns but also sparking talk of a separate 12-man side competition for the Hampshire clubs...it's been a few years since that has been mentioned!
nGeorge King (Craggs) led the way with a fine Top 50 finish, great packing from the Berliners (Coveney) and Team Vosser (Vosser) plus a smattering of vets (Coveney)....it was a true cross-section of our club and finishing as 23rd team in that event is a great result. Well done guys and good luck to those also contesting the National XC Champs next month.
