Race results at Holmsley CC6

A new course at Holmsley hosted the 4th CC6 race on Sunday the 9th January. 13 men and 6 women from the club competed in this 8km undulating off road trail. Despite the Cross Country County Championship taking place the previous day at Fairthorne we had an excellent turnout. The women's team came second with Kathy Bailey leading us in at 4th position, Ellie Swire 5th and Anna Locke 12th, with fine support from Emma Carter 14th (the second race of the weekend), Kirsty Rowland 24th and Joy Radford 46th. In an increasingly competitive field the men's team came a creditable 5th with the consistent (and quick) Will Harding 12th, rapidly improving Jack Rowland 16th, Pete Sansome 21st and Andy Costello 26th. The men were bolstered with a phalanx of fellas including Tom Stephenson 33rd, Steve Oliver 46th, Michael Woodcock 61st, Stephen Lowy 67th, Dean Rawlins 68th, Paul Horler 73rd, Steve Cluett 83rd, Colin McManus 84th and David Vosser 91st. Well done to Steve O, Stephen, Dean and Colin for also completing a weekend double header. I think you will agree the weather on Sunday was more enjoyable than at the County Champs! Next race is on the 30th January at Roundhill Campsite just outside Brockenhurst, look forward to more of you joining in the fun.
