Sam & Oliver kick off outdoor track & field season

The track & field outdoor season has finally arrived and with it some glorius sunshine to get us all in the mood for a busy few months ahead.Our university students took adcantage of some early season fixtures to get their seasons underway in the Midlands and the USA respectively.Sam Clifton (coach Jeremy Clifton) blew the cobwebs away with a throw of 52.68m his 5th best ever at the University of Birmingham Winter throws event. Sam is currently at University in Birmingham and is in his last year as an U20 so continues to throw with the 6kg hammer and will be targetting the U20 national champs this year as well as other key events. He goes 2nd on the (very) early season UK U20 rankings.Decathlete Oliver Thatcher (coach Andy Fisher) also had an early season warm up competing in pole vault & 400m at an invitational meeting in Hickory, North Carolina. Ollie went 2nd in the clubs all time pole vault list with a leap of 4.20m and has added 50cm to his vaulting pb since moving stateside. He also ran 52.12 for the 400m.With the outdoor season underway, look out for the weekend previews and subsequent results as WADAC athletes take part in the various track & field competitions all over the country and beyond.
