WADAC Endurance Academy Make a Splash at County Championships
At the upper end of the age groups, U20 Sam Roberts picked up gold in the 800m with Ben Schofield achieving a pb in the final. Ben followed this up with a pb and silver medal in the 2000m steeplechase. Lily Neate pb'd in the ladies 1500m to win gold while Amelia Moore also ran a pb in the final. Hannah Foster was the final medalist in this group gaining silver in the 3000m.
nIn the u17 category, Ollie Withers took gold in the 800m, followed by Ben Chesterfield, silver and Tom Hicks 5th. All three running pb's! Will Atkins won bronze in the 1500m, again achieving a pb, backed up by James Lewis and Stan Parkinson (pb).
nPoppy Taylor picked up gold in the U15 800m in a new pb with Amelie Gill also running strongly in horrendous conditions. Kate Atkinson won bronze in the 1500m, joined by Darcy Hawkins returning from injury and Grace Baker (pb) in the final. Rosie Sharrock ran strongly in the heats also returning a pb. Seth Noot was unfortunate to be dq'd after a fine run in the 800m, he'll put this right in future races. Ruben Price finished the 1500 m in bronze position with Ethan Skipwith (pb), Seth Noot and Casper Wilson all making the final. Sam Wilkinson ran strongly in the heats picking up his pb over this distance. Casper got his bronze in the 3000 m with Aiden Furby in fourth, both running pb's. The final and by no means least pb of the weekend went to U13 Elodie Gill in the 800m.
nAn encouraging start to the track season, with 27 runs, 17 of them pb's and 11 winning medals.
