Grace wins Schools Regional CE title

In a never ending story of schools successes for the club, the Regional (South East) championships for schools Combined Events took place in Crawley at the weekend and resulted in Grace Colmer (coach Andy Fisher) winning the senior girls (U19) title. Grace has to date been competing at U18 where she just missed out on a place at the European Championships and currently ranks 24th in the world. Grace has now turned her attention to the Senior womens specifications and in doing so won the South East schools title with a points total of 4685 which breaks Anna Newton's current club record.
nIn the Intermediate girls (U17) age group Abi Belward was 5th and Carys Jeffries 12th (both coached by Andy Fisher) and in the Junior girls (U15) age group Rebekah Smith was 5th, Gracie Osman 6th and Lucia Bertachchini 11th (all coached by Andy Fisher).The South West regional champs took place in Yeovil where two of the clubs athletes took part. Oscar Webb (coach Tony Bateman) finished 6th in the Intermediate boys (U17) age group and Lois Moore (coach Andy Fisher) finished 10th in the junior girls (U15) age group.
nWith their performances at the weekend, Grace, Abi, Rebekah, Gracie, Lucia & Lois all qualify for the schools National CE finals in Beford in September which makes quite a season for the girls as all 6 have also qualified for the English schools finals the weekend after next in individual events. Oscar also qualifies for the National schools CE finals.
