Lily comes home 12th

It was a proud moment for the club to see Lily Neate (coach Nick Anderson) line up in her WADAC vest on the start line of the U20 womens 3000m race at the UK champs in Manchester yesterday. Televised live on the various BBC outputs, Lily took her place in a top class field and finished in 12th place in a time of 10.25.85 secs.It wasn't Lily's best race and this is perhaps unsurprising given she had finished her last A level exam in the morning and then had to make the long car journey north to Manchester but obviously she will be better for the experience.Stuart McCallum (self coached) will be WADAC's 2nd representative of the championships and he will take his place in the mens 5000m line up at 4.10pm on Sunday.
