Club win SAL Match to secure league title
On a scorching hot day under the sun, the club won their 4th and last SAL match of the season on their home turf on Saturday to secure the Division 3 West title and win promotion to Division 2 West for next season. The club secured a comfortable victory over season long opponenets Swindon Harriers with victories coming across hurdle, jump, run & throw. The SAL spans all senior age groups from U17 upwards and from what has largely been a settled team all season their were some great performances on the day. This is the clubs first promotion in the SAL since 2014 and Division 2 West will be a more enjoyable league to compete in next year with different opponents in every match and a better standard of competition. There are lots of people to thank for securing the league title over the 4 matches but a special mention should go to Team Manager Sarah who couldn't make the last match because of holiday but has looked after the team for the rest of the season and to the officials who the matches couldn't take place without. With performances improving across the club and even more athletes becoming elegible for the league next year, the future looks bright for a strong showing next year.
