Weekend track & field preview

An early track & field preview this week as many of our talented U17s will be in action in the UK School games which takes places in Loughborough this weekend. The field events take place today and the track events tomorrow and with the top 4 in England being chosen along with competitors from the other homes nations. It is a testement to the club that so many of our athletes have been selected to take part.
nThe schools games is a biennial multi-sport event and perhaps the most popular with young athletes as they get to stay at the Loughborough campus and share the stage with lots of other sports. The track & field action can be seen live on youtube through the following link.

nAlso this weekend, Charlie Elford-Pond will be in for a busy weekend as he is going straight from the School games to the England Throws camp, throws fest meeting just down the road at Moulton College in Northants. In addition, many of the club’s athletes will be taking part in the Portsmouth Open meeting and the Surrey Combined events champs in Carshalton.
