HRRL Grand Prix – Solent Half Marathon
HRRL Rule change: “For the 2021-22 season, chip timings were used to calculate scores, rather than finish times relative to the start gun, to allow for social distancing rules. For the 2022-23 season, races are encouraged to publish results primarily in gun sequence, but in any case, the league will use the published race results rather than re-calculating different results.”
nOur Grand Prix Main Competition will mirror this rule change. This meant in the Solent Half Marathon Kate Green finished just ahead of Sarah Shedden even though Sarah’s chip time was one second less.
nAs usual our Age-adjusted Competition will use the chip time reduced by a factor which depends on the runner’s age on race day, gender, and the race length. No adjustment is made for the hilliness of the course.
