Poppy breaks age group record

Another Lee Valley open meeting took place on Sunday with 3 of the clubs young athletes in action. Poppy Taylor (coach Nick Anderson) ran her first race indoors in nearly 4 years and was rewarded with a new U15G indoor club record running 2.28.51 secs in the 800m.Carys Jeffries (coach Andy Fisher) showed that female sprinting is in very rude health at the club by becoming the 3rd U17 woman to record a time under 8.12 secs in the last week by running a pb of 8.09 secs in the 60m but wasn't pleased with her subsequent long jump. Amy Wall (coach Andy Fisher) made her debut in the U20 age group by running 8.40 secs in the 60m and 9.79 secs in the 60m hurdles in her first race over the senior specifications.
