Women triumph at Kings Garn CC6 cross country league

The Kings Garn CC6 race in the New Forest on Sunday the 11 December brought racing ponies, ice and victory for the club's women. The undulating 9 Km gravel course proved fertile territory with Eleanor Davies leading the team, followed by Ellie Swire and Emma Carter. The men's team were just pipped by Hamwic Harriers, by a single place, coming in 5th with Archie Ives and James Moore packing the top followed by Rob Carter and Dave Vosser. Special mention goes to Gill Goodwin winning her age category. We had a total of 17 athletes competing not bad considering a few had done back to back races with a Masters X Country in Oxford on the previous day.
nThe next race is on 29 January at Helmsley campsite (again the New Forest) we are looking forward to lots club members to join to help the women maintain first position, and get the men back into first too, as they are only 2 placings off the lead.
