Grace smashes through 9 sec barrier

Grace Colmer (coach Andy Fisher) continued her recent improvement over the sprint hurdles by running a time of 8.91 secs over the 60mh senior specifications at the 3 event challenge at Loughborough on Saturday. This smashes the indoor club record and is just 0.06 of a second outside a qualifying standard and invite to the UK indoor champs. Grace also recorded a distance of 5.32m in the long jump and a pb of 10.07m in the shot putt to finish the 3 event challenge in 2nd place behind GB international Nikki Manson. At the same event Rebekah Smith (coach Andy Fisher) went 2nd on the clubs all time age group indoor 60mh rankings with a time of 9.13 secs, not bad for her first run over the 8m spacings and followed that up with a long jump of 4.81m & a shot putt of 9.63m to finish 5th in the 3 event challenge. Arabella Wilson (coach Andy Fisher) didn't have her best day over hurdles and in the long jump but did go 2nd on the clubs all time rankings in the shot with a putt of 10.44m in her first try out indoors with the 4kg shot. Bella finished 4th in the 3 event challenge.Outside the 3 event challenge in Loughborough, Tabitha Willimson (coach Andy Fisher) went 3rd on the clubs all time U17W 60m rankings (that record only lasted 6 days!) with a pb of 8.04 secs and also recorded a distance of 4.79m in the long jump.Over in the States Oliver Thatcher (coach Andy Fisher) had a fantastic first day in an indoor heptathlon on Friday night including returning to 1.90m+ high jumping with a leap of 1.93m. Oliver's 2nd day wasn't so good but he did finish with a new pb points total which improved his previous mark in 2nd place on the clubs all time indoor rankings.
