Poppy & Lucia

With pof10 refreshed for the year, yesterday's Lee Valley Open provides an opportunity to see your name high in the track & field rankings as well as brush away the Christmas cobwebs.7 WADAC athletes were in action over a variety of distances on the track and Poppy Taylor (coach Nick Anderson) used the opportunity to improve her indoor U15G 800m club record by half a second to 2 mins 27.84 secs. Lucia Bertacchini (coach Andy Fisher) also improved her own U15G indoor club record this time in the 200m going under 27 secs for the first time indoors to run 26.92. Sister Francesca Bertacchini (U13 academy) introduced herself to the U13 age group with a new age group indoor club record in the 800m running 2 mins 53.11 secs. Carys Jeffries (coach Andy Fisher) and training partner Rebekah Smith (coach Andy Fisher) would have been a little disappointed with their 60m times and their 200m & 300m times respectively but Ieuan Thomas (coach Nick Anderson) ran a shade under 2 mins 14 secs for an indoor pb.Finally it was great to see Maddie Turner (coach John Miller) back on the track in the 400m with the time irrevelent compared to the fact that Maddie was competing again after returning from a serious ankle injury.
