Charlie breaks club record

Charlie Elford-Pond (coach Eric Davison) showed his new 6kg weight will prove little problem to him as he threw a new pb and club record of 57.40m in the winter throws event at Basingstoke on Saturday.16 year old Charlie moved to number 12 in the world in the embryonic U20 outdoor world lists for 2023 although as an 06 birthday, Charlie is still an U18 in world athletics age group terms and as such may still do some throws with the 5kg weight.Evie Scott (coach Martin McBriar) had a day to forget with the 3kg hammer but as her throw in November showed, she is ready to go over 40m when the weather improves but brother Ned Scott (coach Martin McBriar) had a better day with the javelin throwing 39.47m with much more to come with a dry runway and some sun on his back.
