Tom breaks pole vault record

Before I report on the remarkable performances at Sunday's open meeting, it is worth noting some early season performances that took place in Bournemouth & Bracknell the week before.Tom Price (coach Elias Mtshweni) broke a 14 year old club record by going over 2m to win the U13 boys pole event in Bournemouth and broke Charlie Maw's club record. Charlie went on to become a fine pole vaulter so we have high hopes for Tom and it is great to see Elias & Gareth developing this side of the club.PB's were also recorded in either Bournemouth or Bracknell by Felix Bowyer, Elsie Brindle & Hayden Rogers (all coached by Dave Sherry) as well as Oliver Wye (coach Mark Upton) and brother Rhys (coach Dave Sherry). Amanda Smith (coach Elias Mtshweni) continues to take chunks out of her pb and Carys Jeffries & Jess Howells (coach Andy Fisher) also recorded pb's.If the start of the seaon is anything to go by, then it is going to be a great season for the clubs athletes with some more remarkable performances to report on from Sunday's open meeting tomorrow.
