U17's & U20's just fall short in Brighton

With a heady mix of half-term holidays, a Bank holiday, the middle of the exam period, lots of competition clashes and a fair way to travel, the 2nd upper age group YDL match was always going to be a tough ask in terms of getting athletes to compete. So it proved but nevertheless despite having one of the smallest teams on show, the Team WADAC young athletes along with their composite partners from City of Portsmouth AC punched well above their weight to finish a close 2nd behind hosts Brighton at the 2nd of the upper age group YDL matches. There were some fantastic performances including a number of pb's in the hot conditions and the 18 team WADAC athletes that took part were as follows Chris Meadows Smith (200m & 4 x 100m), Ollie Withers (400m, 800m & both relays), Thomas Evans (1500m), Thomas Jacobs (1500m), Eddie Chambers (800m), Jasmine Gordon (Sp, hammer, jav), Emma Shedden (400mh), Beth Austin (400m & 400mh), Alice Eyssens (100m & 4 x 100m), Amy Wall (LJ), Erin McBriar (SP, hammer, discus), Abi Belward (80mh, 300mh, HJ & 4 x 300m), Lucy Smith, (300mh), Evie Scott (hammer & discus), Elsie Brindle (200m, 300m & both relays), Rebekah Smith (300m), Carys Jeffries, (100m, LJ & both relays), and Grace Weeks (80mh, 200m & both relays).Huge thanks to Brackden Dawson for timekeeping and to David Saunders & Paul Weeks for officiating in the field and we remain top of the leaguer on overall points difference with two matches remaining and it is obviously all to play for.
