Womens vets just fall short in match 2
The 2nd round of the Hampshire vets league took place in Southampton on Monday night.This resulted in an improved showing for the mens team who finished 4th on the night an improvement from their 5th place finish in match 1. The highlight for the men was a new age group club record (V60) for Mike Marchant (self coached) in the discus.The womens team were 2nd on the night in what looks like it is going to be an exciting tussle with Southampton for the league title after the results were reversed from match 1 in Portsmouth. Another discus highlight for the women was Sue Hume's (self coached) throw of 18.65m breaking her own age group club record (V65) and Joy Radford (self coached) setting a new age group record (V70) in the 800m.Match 3 is at our home track on Monday 19th June.
