HRRL Netley 10k
The Netley 10k is another long standing fixture in the HRRL Road Race League....it's a little trip to the seaside and whilst not quite the night of the 10,000m pb's it is still a welcome burnup after all the long stuff. Our teams made the most of the splendid conditions posting some cracking times and providing both the men's winner (Chris Powner, 32'50) and the ladies winner (Tamsin Anderson, 37'34).Our ladies were again strong and packed well up at the front end - congratulations to Tamsin Anderson (1st), Alex Lane (4th), Karla Borland (6th) and Sarah Gurney (8th) who made up our A team and took the team prize.
nOur men were also well represented with Chris Powner (1st) Joe Driscoll (5th), David Comb (15th), Wayne Bevan (22nd) and Dave Gaskell (25th) making up our A team. It remains to be seen where that puts us as a team result but it is pretty good packing so fingers crossed.
nAs ever it takes a wee while for the results to filter through to HRRL league scores but both our A teams won the Alton event last weekend and the Black and Gold was proudly sitting top of the league going into this Netley 10k event. Indeed our men's teams were topping the A, B and C leagues - the dream of the treble is still alive!
nThe next event is Alresford 10k on 18th June....there are still places available for both Alresford and the final race of the season, the Lordshill 10k on the 2nd July. Plenty scope for folks to get involved.
