RR10 Race 3, River Hamble Country Park

Well done to everyone who came and ran last night at the idyllic setting of River Hamble Country Park. Again, heaps of runners turned out for this mid week summer blast, 280 men and 197 ladies, WADAC enjoyed 19 men and 14 ladies partaking a piece of last nights fun.
nOnce again, it was a sunny and warm evening, this time the course of 4.5 miles took us through grass fields, dappled woodland trails, gravel paths and and the killer hill which we did twice, mostly running parallel to the beautiful River Hamble. (If you missed the race this time, we get another chance to run it on 5th July).
nOur ladies team were led by the super sonic Ellie Davies finishing 3rd, smartly on Ellie's heels was speedy Helen Jones (5th) and the team was completed by Annie Mann (6th), this meant that our ladies team finished 2nd, behind Stubbington Green.
nOur fantastic men's team consisted of James Moore (12th), Jack England (13th), Wayne Bevan (17th), Bracken Dawson (33rd) and Rob Carter (57th). The men finished 5th.
nFantastic marshalling (it sounded like the London Marathon at times, with so much enthusiasm, cow bells and clapping), stunning cakes and a super efficient results system using the new Parkrun barcode system which meant that the results were out 1 hour after getting home. Stunning.
nLets do it all again on 31 May at the Cadland Estate, this time starting at 7.30pm. Be there!
