WADAC teams dominate Sportshall Match 2

Results of Hampshire Sportshall League Match 2

The 2nd round of the Hampshire Sportshall league took place at Places Leisure in Eastleigh yesterday and resulted in victory for the 3 WADAC teams that took part.

Unfortunately a late withdrawal meant that the U13 girls didn’t field the 4 girls required to make up a team but as individuals they put in fine performances with Amelia Underwood (coach James Mann) equal 14th, Lydia Middleton (U13 Academy) 12th and Mia Gligorovski (coach Andy Fisher) 5th.

No such issues affected the other teams and the U13 boys tam won comfortably. They were represented by Theo Reeves (coach Andy Fisher) who also was the joint top individual in the age group on the day along with William Griffiths (coach Dave Sherry) in 3rd, AJ Anakwenze (coach Andy Fisher) in 4th and Niko Sledz (U13 academy) in 6th. Fillippos Antoniou was the other WADAC representative finishing 7th.

The U11 girls team won their age group comfortably. Top individual position was taken by Lottie Osman (U13 academy) in 4th, closely followed by training partner Gen Riches (U13 academy) in 5th, Liane Marquis Onijube (Junior Athletics Group) was 8th and Ayla Hermitage (U11 academy) completed the scorers in 13th. The B team were 7th on the day and this team was made up of Emo Gligorovski (U11 academy) in 20th, Bethany Underwood (U11 academy) in 25th, India Middleton (U13 academy) in joint 27th & Saskia Motherwell (U11 academy) in joint 39th.

The U11 boys team ensures that every complete WADAC team won their event on the day. This team was headed by Teo Sledz (U11 academy) in 3rd, Jamie Jack (coach James Mann) in joint 5th, Jacob Canto (U11 academy) in 8th and Tom Jepson (coach James Mann) completing the scorers in 14th. The B team were 9th on the day represented by Charlie Griffiths (U13 academy) in joint 21st, Jonathan Lockyer-Mckay (U11 academy) 28th, Samuel Jones (U11 academy) 29th and Ben Smallwood (U11 academy) in 36th. Competing as individuals were George Hardcastle in 44th and Sean Xie in 51st.

The U15 age group compete as individuals and in the girls event, Megan Moat (coach Andy Fisher) was 4th and Darcey Thorne-Hernderson (coach Martin McBriar) was 5th. For the boys training partners Joel Stanton (coach Mark Upton) & Monty Brindle (coach Mark Upton) were joint winners.

Match 3 takes place at the same venue on Sunday the 21st January.
