WADAC Athletes attend Discus Master Class

England Athletics held a Discus Master Class last weekend in Woking run by Mark Chapman (Discus lead for England Athletics) with special Guest Zara Obamakinwa (GB U23 International and GB U20 All Time record Holder). Invites were provided to Age Group discus throwers ranked in the UK Top 15 at U15 and U17 and WADAC had four athletes attend the training day. Aspen, Darcey, Abi and Beth all really enjoyed the experience accompanied by Throws Coach Martin. The girls all got to receive some specific advice from Mark on improving technique, video analysis of throws and some ideas on what to focus on over Winter Training. The day finished with a Q&A session with Zara who was able to provide some tips on everything from improving technique to balancing training with exams. These sessions are really helpful in helping to build knowledge in our athletes and coaches and the group will be able to bring lots of new ideas back to Winchester to benefit the wider training group. A number of throws sessions are planning over the Winter with two Hammer Master Classes planned in the coming months.
