Bella goes sub 56 in Loughborough
In a remarkable comeback to the 400m after 10 months away with a serious injury that prevented her particpation in the Commonwealth youth games, Bella Wilson (coach Andy Fisher) ran a pb of 55.95 in the Loughborough Open on Saturday. This improves Bella’s standing as 2nd on the clubs all time 400m lists gains her some valuable world ranking points and she looks forward to some warmer weather to improve this time further this season.
In the same race, Elsie Brindle (coach Mark Upton) ran a time of 56.60 secs just outside the best time she set in Yeovil a few weeks ago. These are great times for an U17 as Elsie chases the qualifying standard of 54.50 for the European U18 champs in Slovakia in July. As an 07 birthday, this season will be Elsie’s only shot at the Euro U18’s hence the number of 400m races Elsie is taking on this season rather than the traditional 300m for the U17 age group.
