Quad kids points totals from Saturday
Whilst all results have been included, for some reason Opentrack isn’t calculating the points scores for the Quad kids competition and I have therefore done this manually and this can be seen in the link below.

We had great feedback from yesterday’s Open Meeting and the weather was kind to us as the sun came out and the wind turned around in the Afternoon.

Weekend Track & Field preview
Always an exciting time, the beginning of the outdoor season is upon us and there are lots of WADAC names on the start lists at the well supported City of Portsmouth Open taking place tomorrow.
We wish everyone well as they begin their outdoor track & field seasons.
Lexie breaks her own indoor club record
Lexie Trott (coach Tom Farres) broke her own club indoor record by going over 3.17m in the pole vault at Vault London in Lee Valley on Sunday. Lexie added another couple of centimetres to her existing mark and finished her indoor season in style.
Tom Price (coach Elias Mtshweni) also jumped an indoor pb of 2.57m to improve his own all time 2nd place age group performance in the same competition and both Lexie & Tom will now be focussed on the outdoor season.
Elsewhere at the weekend, Oliver Thatcher (coach Andy Fisher) began his outdoor collegiate season with a throw of 39.80m in the discus and a long jump in excess of 6m at a local meeting last Friday night.
Weekend track & field preview
Just 1 WADAC athlete I can find on the trak & field startlists this weekend as we transition from the indoor season to the outdoor one.
The last of the Lee Valley Minithon’s takes place with a WADAC young athlete on the start lists and from here on in we celebrate the start of the outdoor season.
Pb’s galore at Basingstoke Winter throws
Martin McBriar’s throws squad continued their good start to the season at a chilly Basingstoke on Saturday in the last of their winter throws series.
Christopher Wood (coach Martin McBriar) was throwing with the U15 specifications for the first time and as such recorded 3 pb’s in shot, javelin and discus.
Pan Karletsos (coach Martin McBriar) threw a pb in the discus and Reuben Noott (coach Martin McBriar) gets ever closer to 3rd place on the clubs all time age group hammer list with every throw this time recording a new pb of 37.24m. Finally Sam Nicholson (Coach Martin MccBriar) threw yet another pb with the 800g javelin recording a distance of 46.32m.
Amy jumps 5.70m to go 3rd all time
Amy Wall (coach Andy Fisher) began her collegiate outdoor season in some style with a leap of 5.70m in the South Alabama Outdoor invitational meeting in Mobile, Alabama on Friday.
Amy’s new pb was part of a great series of jumps, 3 of which exceeded her previous best.
Jumping for the Troy Trojans the track & field team name at Troy University in Alabama Amy was 2nd in the Womens long jump event and the jump goes 3rd on the clubs all time lists just behind her former training partners Gracie Osman & Grace Colmer.
Weekend track & field preview
As the indoor season winds to a close, the last of the Basingstoke Winter throws series is the highlight of this weekends track & field action for WADAC’s athletes. A number of Martin McBriar’s throws group are in action in Basingstoke today. Good luck to them all.
As a number of us are glued to the indoor NCAA finals in Virginia Beach this weekend, it is worth noting that some of our collegiate athletes also begin their outdoor season this weekend.
Rhys runs pb in Uxbridge
The last of the Brunel Uni Indoor Open series took place at Uxbridge last night and 3 of the clubs sprinters were in action.
Rhys Wye (coach Mark Upton) won the dinner table bragging rights with a 100m pb of 11.87 in his first heat and then improved this further with a run of 11.82 in his 2nd race. Brother Oliver Wye (coach Mark Upton) ran a time of 12.09 to be 3rd in his heat.
Aspen Stobart (coach Martin McBriar) ran a 100m pb of 13.05 to be 4th in her heat.
Esme opens her season
Esme Buchanan (coach Andy Fisher) began her season with a 1.55m HJ at the BFTTA indoor series at Lee Valley on Sunday.
Vets womens Team Manager Amanda Smith (coach Dave Sherry) was also in action recording a time of 36.05 secs in the 200m.
Sam starts his season in Birmingham
Sam Clifton (coach Jeremy Clifton) began his season at the University of Birmingham Winter throws meet on Saturday.
Sam blew the cobways away with a 4th round hammer throw of 52.15m and will have been pleased to get his season underway.
Weekend track & field preview
A very busy weekend in store for WADAC athletes as we meet the cross over of the end of the indoor season and the beginning of the outdoor one.
There are two national championships this weekend as three of the clubs young multi-eventers compete at the national age group indoor multi-events champs in Sheffield today & tomorrow. Training partners Gracie Osman & Seni Purnell (both coached by Andy Fisher) will be competing in the U17 age group today with Mia Gligorowski (coach Andy Fisher) in action in the U15 age group tomorrow.
The British Masters Winter throws champs also takes place this weekend in Oxford with Head of throws Martin McBriar (self coached), Jeremy Clifton (self coached) and Mark Stone (coach Martn McBriar) all on the start lists.
In addition Sam Clifton (coach Jeremy Clifton) is in action today at the University of Birmingahm Winter throws meeting and finally the club has 3 athletes on the start lists at the last of the BFTTA winter indoor series open meetings at Lee Valley tomorrow.

Bournemouth Open meeting cancelled
The Bournemouth Open meeting is one of a series of local early season open meetings and was scheduled for Sunday 30th March.
A number of WADAC athletes were on the start lists but unfortunately the meeting has been cancelled.

Lexie competes in Vault Cardiff
Lexie Trott (coach Tom Farres) took part in the Welsh Pole Vault Association event called Vault Cardiff in the Welsh capital yesterday.
Lexie cleared 3.14m just 1cm down on her own indoor club record.
Weekend Track & Field Preview
The first outdoor championships of the year takes place this weekend as the UKA/EA Winter long throws championships is held at Loughborough University.
It being a National championship of course there are WADAC names amongst the starting lists and this holds particular significance for this event which is through invitation only.
In action today will be Charlie Elford-Pond (coach Jake Norris) who competes in the U20M hammer and Jess Howells (coach Andy Fisher) who competes in the U20W javelin. This year is an important one for the U20’s as the European U20 champs takes place later this year in Tampere, Finland and this presents a good opportunity to impress the GB selectors.
In action tomorrow will be Aspen Stobbart (coach Martin McBriar) in the U15G hammer and U15G discus and Aspen will be looking to extend her pb’s in both.
In indoor action tomorrow will be those taking part in the last of the WSEH Open Meeting series in Eton and I see Lexie Trott (coach Tom Farres) on the starting lists for Vault Cardiff
First Home Open Meeting is open for entries
The traditional April home Open Meeting takes place on the 19th April (Easter Saturday) here at the Winchester track and the events are filling up fast.

WADAC Season Opener Open Meeting
Aspen breaks two records in one weekend
Aspen Stobart (Coach Martin McBriar) showed what a fantastic addition she is to the club with two new age group club records set at the weekend.
On Sunday in Eltham, Aspen recorded a time of 8.10 secs in the 60m to break Gracie Osman’s U15G age group indoor club record and this followed a 3kg hammer throw of 44.85m at the Basingstoke Winter throws event on Saturday which again broke the U15G age group record but this time for an outdoors performance. for good measure, Aspen also went 2nd on the clubs all time age group discus lists with a throw of 34.30m. Also in action in Basingstoke, Aspen’s Sister Winter (coach Martin McBriar) went 2nd on the clubs all time 4kg hammer lists with a throw of 40.91m and also threw the discus 30.10m. Clarice Thorne-Henderson & Charlotte Humphries (both coached by Martin McBriar) recorded pb’s in the SP with pushes of 8.15m & 7.16m respectively and followed this with pb’s in the hammer (both Clarice & Charlotte) and discus (just Charlotte). Reuben Noott (coach Martin McBriar) made a fine start to throwing the 5kg hammer with a throw of 35.56m and Sam Nicholson (coach Martin McBriar) did likewise with the 800mg javelin throwing 45.48.
Elsewhere in action this Weekend, Eslie Brindle (coach Mark Upton) competed in the BHXi indoor meeting in Birmingham smashing her own indoor pb to record a time of 56.95 secs in the 400m to go 2nd on the clubs all time indoor lists.
Bella competes at Keely Klassic
Arabella Wilson (coach Andy Fisher) was invited to take part in her first World indoor Tour event last Saturday as she took to the start line in the National 400m womens race at the Keely Klassic in Birmingham.
The eponymous meeting was planned as a world indoor 800m record attempt for Keely Hodgkinson who sadly had to withdraw with injury but nevertheless the meeting contained the best of British talent in a home meeting with a World indoor tour bronze accreditation.
Bella ran her 4th fastest 400m time of 55.83 secs and her 3rd fastest indoor time in coming 4th in her race and this also served as a warm up for the UK champs taking place this Weekend.
