Women dig deep at Aldershot in Hampshire Cross country League

nAldershot gave us the first sunny day of racing of the Hampshire League. Unfortunately due to all the rain the playing fields were still pretty boggy making it heavy going with lots of fun puddles in the woods, but this did not deter the ladies.
nAnnabel Gummow came an impressive 3rd overall ( 4 seconds behind Steph Twell) she was closely followed by Helen Hall in 6th and Kate Towerton 14th. Strong Reading and Aldershot teams mean we came a comfortable 3rd ahead of Basingstoke.
nUnder 20 girls fielded a great team to secure 3rd team place but are second over all in the standings at the moment. Alice Calder had brilliant run coming in 6th the Emillia Montagu-scott 11th and Poppy Clements 14th.
nThe Vets ladies had a brilliant day, except for Natalie Cain who nastily sprained her ankle racing on the course we wish her a speedy recovery. 1st team place was comfortably secure with our first 3 athletes coming in the top 10. Sam Parkinson had a wonderful run coming 2nd, Charlie Hoskins 4th and Emma Carter 7th- good preparation for the SEAA masters at oxford.
nBit of a break from Hampshire League until 11 Jan but don’t forget the County Champs 4th Jan which you can enter directly on their website www.hampshireatheltics.org.uk
