Harry wins South of England LJ title for 3rd year in a row
WADAC's male senior athlete of the year Harry Crosby (coach Andy Fisher) took his 3rd South of England long jump title in as many years by claiming the mens U20 gold medal at Lee Valley on Sunday. In doing so, Harry jumped further than any other WADAC athlete before him in an indoor setting by breaking the clubs indoor club record with a leap of 7.14m. Harry put the disappointment of a disqualification in his 60m heat the day before by also running a huge indoor pb to take the silver medal in the 200m running 22.10 secs again the best ever performance indoors by a WADAC athlete.Grace Colmer (coach Andy Fisher) also had a good weekend by running a pb of 9.15 in her semi-final of the U20 womens 60m hurdles on Saturday and was unfortunate to miss out on the final by just 0.03 secs. Grace put that behind her by taking bronze in the U20 womens long jump on the Sunday in an indoor pb of 5.34m the 3rd furthest indoor jump by a WADAC female just behind training partners Bella and Amy. Remarkable all 3 of these jumps have been achieved in the last month demonstrating that long jumping at WADAC is in very rude health indeed.
