Record breaking performances at midweek open meeting
The club is beginning to gain a great reputation for its open meetings since they restarted last year with extremely positive feedback from everyone who attended and a fantastic atmosphere on the night. This is of course a wonderful opportunity for competition for our youngest athletes as well as those who may not get opportunities to compete for the club in our strongest teams or those looking to fine tune performances with many important competitions coming up.We were blessed that the thunder and lightning held off until just after the last event. All results have now been finalised on Opentrack (sorry for the delay with a few of the track races we had queeries with) and will appear on pof10 shortly. The evening didn't disappoint and there were 3 highlights which have resulted in entries in the club records. Grace Colmer (coach Andy Fisher) leapt to the furthest ever jump by a WADAC female of 5.74m which smashed her own club record and moved Grace to 33rd on the UK senior womens rankings.Poppy Taylor (coach Nick Anderson) recorded a time of 4.41.72 secs for the 1500m which puts her 2nd on the clubs all time age group list and 8th in the UK age group rankings. It is also an English schools entry standard to go alongside the standard Poppy has already achieved for the 800m. Gracie Osman (coach Andy Fisher) also achieved an English schools entry standard jumping 5.22m to go joint 2nd on the clubs all time age group lists and 7th in the UK age group rankings.Outside of this, there were a huge number of personal best performances particularly in the younger age groups and the quad kids competitions as ever generated a lot of excitement.Full results below.https://data.opentrack.run/en-...
