Juniors selected for British Athletics Road Championships
The event, which traditionally takes place on the day of the London Marathon, moved to the day before but was still raced over the last 2.6k of the full marathon course allowing the 7,000 junior athletes who participated the opportunity for the final flourish up The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.

nThree runners from WADAC had been selected to take part in the event that has seen the likes of Mo Farah, Jake Wightman, Laura Muir, Eilish McColgan, and Keely Hodgkinson emerge from the race. Only six runners per age category are selected from the entire South East of England region, one of the strongest regions in the UK.

nNext out in the U17 category was Harry Wilson (Nick Anderson), and in a very competitive field, he was the third runner home from the South East and finished in 24th place.

nIn the U17 ladies category, Annie Mann (James Mann) made her debut running for WADAC representing the London Borough of Hackney. In what was her first run since winning the U18 1500m European Championships in July, she managed a very strong 4th overall and 1st in the London Borough Race, which meant the highlight of her day was meeting and having her medal presented to her by marathon world record holder Kipchoge.

nWell done to those that represented the club. It would be great to see more WADAC athletes competing in the event when it returns to its traditional slot in April 2023.
