Weekend Track & Field preview

Another busy weekend of action ahead starting today with the county schools championships. Young athletes will be looking to catch the selectors eye in placing well at today's county schools champs with a view to winning selection at next weeks inter-counties regional schools event in Basingstoke and/or the English schools championships in Birmingham in 3 weeks time.Loughborough will be hosting a BMC grand prix today which is a world athletics challenger event meaning world rankings points will be up for grabs and I can see Helen Hall, Toby Cooke and Annie Mann's names on the start lists. The event will be stremed live if you want to watch them in action.Tomorrow sees the clubs hosting it's 2nd Wessex league match of the season and a huge thanks to all the volunteers who make hosting a match possible. It is also the first round of National Athletics League matches and whilst Team WADAC arn't in the NAL (yet) Sam Clifton will be competing as a higher claim athlete for Sale Harriers in Manchester in the premier league and Arabella Wilson will be appearing as a guest in the championship match in Basingstoke.Good luck to everyone competing this weekend, one unique thing about the schools champs is that the young athletes will be competing in the vests of their schools districts so I can't say good luck to everyone in black & gold as normal, I'll simply say good luck to everyone at Team WADAC.
